Exped Thunder 50 Backpack Navy
"The durable, full-featured, multi-day Thunder offers convenient dual access set on an ultralight suspension system. It combines top-loading simplicity with the organizational ease of a panel loader. And while Thunder's low total weight makes it an ultralight, it's load-bearing capacity remains high. Main compartment access is unsurpassed with both top and panel loading options. As a top-loader, Thunder is opened through the double-drawcorded and skirted top under a fully extendable and removable floating lid. In this mode, the pack expands upward to accommodate bulky, oversized loads.
The extension straps allow the lid to rise up and stay centered on the load. For greater access to items buried within the pack, the entire dual-zippered front panel of the main compartment opens, revealing all the packed contents. The top lid consists of two pockets: a large one with exterior access and another on the underside for keys, wallet and other valuables, both zippered. Four loops in the seams on top of the lid allow items such as crampons to be strapped there. Each hip belt wing is fitted with a stretch pocket for small objects needed on the trail, such as lip balm, sunscreen, phone or GPS. Adjustable, multi-access stretch-pouches are positioned low on each side of the pack for water bottles, trekking poles and tent poles. On the outside of the pack, a stretch panel provides a secure place to stow a wet jacket or dirty gaiters. Two daisy chains with attachment loops and two ice axe loops accommodate mountain tools. Four compression straps with quick-attach Rapide Hooks, two on each side, securely collapse the pack around any size load and hold longer items in place along the sides. A hanging pouch at the top of the interior holds a water reservoir and tube exit ports are placed at the upper left and right of the frame. The suspension system combines a stout, single aluminum stay anchored in a ergonomically contoured, dual-denisty foam hip belt with a sophisticated shoulder yoke and scapula pad. The padded yoke, with sternum strap, slides along the the stay, allowing a wide range of vertical micro-adjustment to precisely match the wearer's torso length. PU-coated, 210 D Robic HD ripstop nylon is light and durable with a 2,500 mm water column rating. Available in women's and men's designs.
